Martin Cooper, born December 26, 1928, was an American engineer who led the team that manufactured the first cell phone and was the first person in history to make a handheld cellular phone call in public in 1983! He is widely regarded as the 'Father of the (handheld) cell phone". Cooper graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (1950).
