Just a glimpse of the peaceful and contemplative side of stand-up paddle-boarding. This is my friend and neighbour Søren on our evening paddle down the River Brent. On this trip I saw a kingfisher, a whirring of red and blue low and fast right in front of me. I've been in London for a long time now and this is my first ever sighting of one of these glorious little birds. And I attribute that to the paddleboard, no galumphing on foot or in a boat , the quiet and unobtrusive approach on the board
