Nintendo is betting on nostalgia and new gamers to drive sales of its flagship Switch 2 console and key games.

Switch 2 is set to see its first GameCube Pokemon title sooner than later. Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness will arrive on the system in March, which is just days away, for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. Unless a surprise happens before then, it will be the ninth GameCube title for the service.

Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen are officially coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026.

It's great to see some classic Pokémon land on Switch and Switch 2, but if these titles land on modern platforms, I'll be absolutely over the moon.

A brand-new line of official Hori Switch 2 Ditto accessories was not on my bingo card for Pokemon Day, but I'll take it. The brand has revealed on its official Japanese website that it's releasing a new line of Switch 2 accessories to coincide with the upcoming Pokemon Pokopia game.

Nintendo will probably show off more of these minigames in detail, and the expansion launches on March 26. The Switch 2 version with all this new content costs $80 and is available to preorder, but if you already own Super Mario Bros. Wonder, you can upgrade it for $20.
